Fliptakes is an invention that came to fruition from a high-and-steep roof technician who had taken hundreds of photos for multiple properties on a busy day. He found himself in the hotel room writing out reports trying to figure out what he was looking at in each picture. Not only was this inefficient, but sometimes he labeled his images incorrectly. He frustratingly thought there must be a better way. This is when the seed was planted.

First came the idea of taking pictures in a particular order to help with remembering for labeling—front, right, back, left, etc. This saved some time creating reports at the end of the day and certainly worked for a while, but he was still not satisfied. Weeks later, on another typical day while photographing, he said 'Hmmm, if I could just mark the pictures as I'm taking them', and so the idea for Fliptakes was created.

Using his own mockup with plastic pieces, stencils, and a key ring, he was finally satisfied. Only after months of exposing what is now known as prototype one to multiple adjusters and contractors over varying companies, did he realize the true potential and time-saving ability of his creation.
